The exhibition ÀTEINDREUNERAISONANCE endeavors to resonate with some chosen architectures. Hammam, riad, tannery, herbalist’s shop, metalsmith, etc. all spaces characteristic of the Fez Medina, which has a legacy of handicraft and the continued use of traditional techniques. The process of manufacturing induces a stretched sense of time, where rhythms and tones participate in the complexity of the perception of each space. In the exhibition, a soundtrack diffusion is weaving links with photographs and a film. A vocal vibration reaches and amplifies the particular harmonics of a space and the magnification of the waves approaches the resonant frequency of the structure, thereby establishing a subtle line of communication. Each space is thus defined by a note. While thin strings are used to inform the physical dimensions of the spaces, a color is then assigned, according to an established range. Thanks to this protocol, a colored and sound spectrum is defined for each architecture. On the wall, the strings are stretched like a mental map. At each end, a specific stone -picked up in the Sahara Desert- is hanging. The stones soft surfaces are drawing line like veins, and their colors seem of the same range variation as the human skin pigmentations. Skin color, vocal color. The installation is thought of as a tense flow where body, spaces, sounds and colors are entangled. Interpretation of the spectrum of sound or light waves, taut lines, the incantatory nature of the power of voice, the sublimation process, what is not visible becomes audible. Conductive bodies, conveying an element of the invisible. The exhibition becomes the trace of the non-visible and the manifestation of a mental mapping. C.L.
